Genealogy asked: Do you pay people for Genealogy items or do you think it should be free? And why would you expect someone to just give information that it cost them money to purchase? Why should you get a free pass?
What about using someones website for information?
www.ancestorology.com has plenty of free indexes but charges for their services.

Ado M asked:
.. such as genealogy.com or ancestry.com? I don’t have a whole lot of information, just a few names that I nearly had to beg my biological father for, but I’d like to trace back my roots

I’ve been working on my family tree/history for a number of years, and I’ve essentially hit the point where I can’t afford to pay for different source materials, etc. Does anybody give out grants to support this kind of work?

Carolus asked: King David of Psalms (the Tanakh or a.k.a. Bible)
Have they don’t it already, if not – why?? I think it’s important and beautiful they should…! What would it mean if my grandpa’s lineage traced back King David (highly unlikely but who knows)? So interesting!

I am half Shawnee and am finding it impossible to track my heritage. Any pointers would help, but I’m afraid it’s a lost cause.

*granny* asked:
I have been looking for census from 1900 to current. I have found information on Ancestry, but can’t view census records without paying. Is there another site that will let me view records, or do I need to pay. I guess it would be worth it for the information others have taken the time to do.

Jennifer B asked:
I’ve been searching online and I can’t seem to find anything. I think I should have a right to know where my roots came from without having to pay a “low monthly price”. It’s ridiculous. Does anyone know where I can find out where my ancestors came from for free?
