French and Italian Genealogy?

My parents and ancestors are all from France and Italy. None of them or their relatives immigrated to America, so sites like ancestry.com and familysearch.org don’t have any data on my family. Can anyone please recommend some good sources of genealogy data for France (northern France) and Italy (northern Italy). Thank you very much.

Alright, I’ve been obsessed with genealogy for awhile now, and I know a whole lot of free sites that have helped me tremendously. But I have been considering joining one of the major genealogy websites (which you have to pay for). So, is anybody a member of any genealogy website that you have to pay for, and is it worth it?

ok, well, all i know is that im half nigerian….my dad nigerian. my moms a quarter cherokee, and the rest is black and creole…..what im confused about is that i dont know exactly which creole she is; since there are a lot, and no ones alive for me to find out, lol…any ideas on how to do research about my genealogy…all i can go by is surnames….im not gonna even TRY to find out about my dad, cause i dont know anything
