why are genealogy DNA tests so expensive?

Just Trying To Help asked:
i want to find out what african country my ancestors originated from but these African Ancestry tests are wayyy to expensive why is this?? they can charge blacks a few cheap dollars to take a paternity test and end up on the Maury show but the minute we want to find a little bit about our hertiage they want over $500 dollars for it why are they so expensive????????
