Is there any point in paying to join a genealogy site when I have never found any research on my ancestors?

The only results have been from gov. sites, and limited census results from Ancestry etc. What could purchased software offer? Only organising results? I have been searching for months, and NEVER found anyone researching my family. I have joined Ancestry, but again, only gov records and even theyr’e somtimes inconsistant eg one sibling shown on her sisters census entry, but no entry of her own for the same year.

Fiction: Creating a genealogy for a Vladimir Fox?

Here’s the catch: I need one of the parents to be from China or Japan. The other parent can be from anywhere, but I’ve always imagined from Germany or Russia given that the two parents named their son Vladimir.
The story is taking place slightly in the future, but these two descendants can be from any past time period. They needn’t be his parents; just to be in his genealogy.

I always imagined that his father was a Russain scientist during the beginning of World War II, who agreed to help America in order to come over.

The problem with this is America’s distrust in “commies” and how would this scientist meet and fall in love with an asian?

How do you get to insert a site for the person to go to in your yahoo answer. example: www genealogy.com?

I just clicked on it….and there is was!!!

I am of German decent and my surname is Niedermeyer, what I do know is that my family originally came from Bavaria and then immigrated to South Africa in WW1. When I tried to search for my Genealogy it came up with a different spelling of my surname it was Niedermayer, could my family change the spelling of this Niedermayer to Niedermeyer?
